4.3 Oil Pressure

I have a 1999 Silverado with a 4.3 and no oil pressure. Before the pressure drop there was no noise or sputtering, basically no change in engine performance at all. The truck stalled and check engine oil pressure was displayed in the message center. I pulled onto the median and the truck would not start. I had it towed to my house and will begin work tommorow. Does anyone have any ideas of where I should start? I just replaced the timing chain and the distributor cap. I did have alot of gas in my oil after replacing the distributor cap and changed the oil.

You should have changed oil before driving it?
Did oil pressure drop befor or after it quit?
Any engine noise?
Is engine still in time?
Got compression?

The oil was changed before driving it. Im not to sure if the oil pressure dropped right before it shut off or after but I know that it was normal a few minutes before it shut off. There was no engine noise at all it was running fine and just shut off. I could not work on it today as we had tornado warnings and it rained all day, but lastnight I did check it for spark and it had no spark on any cylinder.

If no spark work on the no spark end.
Is dist still in time and rotor turning?
Does fuel pump prime up key on or engine ranking?
Check all wiring and plug in's and fuses.

Got good compression?

Let us know how it goes.

The plug going into the oil pressure sensor had oil around it because I have a leak but I did test the wires running to the sensor and the sensor is getting power. I checked for codes and it did not have any. The fuel pump is running with the key on. If the sensor was bad would it throw a code?

No on oil pressure sensor throwing a code.
If it is leaking replace it.

If you have no spark work on the no spark problem.
