2001 Ram 3500 Cummins Pedal20GMC00 04-04-2009, 09:56 PM I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 with a Cummins. Sometimes when I am taking off from a stop, the pickup will not move when the pedal is pushed down. But eventually it will finally go. And also, are the pedals electronic in these? Thanks ctwright 04-04-2009, 10:33 PM Automatic transmission? If so check your fluid level. Also is the engine revving when pushing in the pedal. I was probably wrong when I said check your fluid level now that I'm thinking about it because you already asked about the pedal so I'm assuming you mean you are getting no response at the engine from pushing in on the accelerator. 20GMC00 04-04-2009, 11:02 PM Yes, there is no response from the engine when the pedal is pressed. But it only happens every once in a while. Chris Stewart 04-05-2009, 05:50 PM Yup, you have a Dead Pedal. Sometimes a pedal reset helps. Remove the negative cable from both batteries for at least 20 minutes then after reconnecting them, turn the keyswitch On and slowly mash the throttle to the floor and release. Turn the keyswitch Off then start the engine and go for a test ride. Your Dodge can do a bit of trouble code diagnostics by turning the keyswitch On-Off-On-Off-On then you look for codes displayed on the odometer. A P1693 means there's a code that both the truck and engine computers know there's an issue....companion code. xj31 04-05-2009, 11:00 PM Yup, you have a Dead Pedal. Sometimes a pedal reset helps. Good call, hopefully that does it but if its the apps, its around $500 from dodge.I think its covered by the cummins 10/100 warranty 20GMC00 04-06-2009, 12:04 AM Thanks alot! I will give that a try. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
