Can't find replacement 2001 Silverado spark plugsmarkp 03-28-2009, 03:24 PM Was going to replace the spark plugs today in my 2001 Silverado 1500 with a 4.8L. The plugs that came out of it are NGK PZTR5A and also say ACDelco 12567759. I've been to 4 stores (NAPA, Advanced, OReilly's, Sturdevants) and they all look at it like it's a ghost and have never seen it before. I can't believe with all the Silverados on the road they have not seen this plug and don't stock them. Where can I get these plugs or is there a matching replacement? Thanks. markp barefootdiver2000@yahoo.com 2000CAYukon 03-29-2009, 12:00 PM AC Delco switched to Iridium (from Platinum). You want AC Delco 41985 plugs for your truck. //2000CAYukon wafrederick 03-29-2009, 03:16 PM Sometimes some spark plugs are discontinued and go up to the upgraded plugs.CarQuest did this on one AC Delco spark plug number already. mwid73 03-30-2009, 10:18 AM Yeah, Yukon is right. The plugs you want are AC 41-985. Same plug that I just put in my '02 6.0L. I got mine at O'reilly's, the ACDelco 12567759 means nothing, it's just the GM part#. They are spendy but you'll only need to change 'em every 80,000 - 100,000 miles. Make sure you set the gap ( 0.060 ) mine were only gapped at 0.042 in the package. ukrkoz 03-31-2009, 11:02 AM so you have AC DELCO plugs made by NGK? or the other way around? anyhow, I really don't know, and don't quite care how much iridium tipped ones are from one of those manufacturers. I use exclusively HALO plugs, for improved mpg, slight power improvement, and overall quality. also, I do not miss setting gaps, as they do not have any. and no, I have no $$ interest in the product. just been using them for yrs on most of my vehicles. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
