I see this, and I think - "I have to make one of these in 1/8 one day..."!

Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing more, too.

Best regards,

Excellent work Allan! This kit is incredible in detail. I recall in CTJoe's thorough build thread on another site (BMC) he mentioned some issues with body fit. Particularly troublesome was the front clip attachment. Not a big deal if you know about it and work everything out ahead of painting.

Great work.

Althought great quantity of times this model was reproduced, I'm not tired to see how people is able to improve the results more each time.

Which Rothmans decals did you use? I have looked everywhere for a specific replacement and it looks like I am going to be stuck with Studio27.

They were included in the MFH kit. But Museum collection has done the decals (high-tech). Problem is the blue colour is completely wrong.

That's odd as mine didn't have the "Rothmans" lettering. It has everything but that. I can only hope mine turns out as good as yours is. It looks great.

I don't throw this word around for very many builds, but that is stunning!!! The detail is great. What is your technique for the air hoses for the brakes? I can never get mine to look correct and I love the look of yours.

Excellent work so far! Nice clean build. Have you had any problems with parts fit or lots of clean-up? Never bought one because of the price but after seeing this I may just have to try and track one down.

The air hoses in the kit are one of the few bad things. They should be hollow and look like hoses, but they do not. The front air hoses: I took some thin wire and bend around. Then primed and painted a kind of orange colour. It looks much, much better compared to MFH standard.
The rear air hoses are useless. The first thing you will notice is they ought to be hollow and they are not. And here it is totally visible. Disaster. Again I took some thin wire and bended the wire around a solid rod. Then I tried to bend the wire to make it fit. Here you can use the MFH parts as master. I filled up very carefully the empty space with white glue. Paint it black and it looks 100 times better than the MFH parts. Thats "all".

Yes - the windscreen is a nightmare in many ways. The decal looks bad no matter what I tried. The bad news about a vacu windscreen is you do have this nasty problem. The good news about the vacu windscreen. It is NOT out of scale like the Tamiya or Hasegawa.

Yes and yes. But as you can see it is possible to fix those problems. But it takes a lot of time and patience. But the end result speaks its own language.

Yes. But as always you need a lot of preperation, patience, cutting and messing around:banghead:. But it worked at the end of the day. :licka:
