I hope someone can help me. I have 96 Jimmy and it has been to 4 garages, new computer, changed PCV valve and at wits end. Some mornings it starts then airbag light comes on and RPMS go up and down and if it doesn't stall it slams in to every gear. When it stalls then it will proceed through this several times. When it is about to stall out the realy access panel in the glove box snaps like an electric "zap". Also does this while driving as soon as the air bag light comes on you know a "fit" will start. Sometimes revs up to 3000 RPM and then mellows out only to slam into gear. Any help would be greatly appreciated--I'm at wits end here. Have been told could be transmission solenoid.

Thanks in advance

i have a 95 that was doing something like that. iac valve was holding rpms up high, rough shifting. no ses light. would shut the truck off. turn it back on, put in gear and then abs light came on. ended up replacing the tps and everything returned to normal.

The Blazers have had a history of bad ignition switches. (not the key part, but the electrical part) The "key on" position has multiple ignition circuits and sometimes one of them does not make contact. This will affect the electric controls for the transmission as well as some of the "key on" functions like 'airbag'. I would have someone look at that possibility for you.
Good luck
