Today my 1992 Chevy s10 transmission died. I was driving in 5th gear, and it sounded like everything broke lots of bad noises:mad:. I pulled over to the side of the road, And looked underneath the truck to see if parts were falling out or what. Well everything was still in it. Well I was about 70 miles from home, so I decided to find if I had any gears , I only had one gear left that would move the truck 4th gear only. So I coasted down hill and got the truck moving and actuality made it back home about 45 mph, with no stops.:biggrin:
So no towing bill to pay :rofl:. Well here is the question, I have a 1988 Chevy s10 with a dead 4-151 2.5L engine, And good transmission. An my other truck is a 1992 Chevy s10 with a 2.8L now with bad transmission, Can I take the transmission out of the 1988 truck and put it into the 1992 Chevy ? Will the transmissions swap out ?? Please let me know what your thought is..

Well here is the answer to the question, I did it today and yes they will interchange. 1988 Chevy s10 with a dead 4-151 2.5L engine, And good transmission, I put the transmission into a 1992 Chevy s10 with a 2.8 engine.
