It's been a while ( the saga continues )

Well I'm back and after almost year I'm back tiring to get the Vandura running .

In my last post
My problem started when I started getting black smoke from the exhaust so i thought change the spark plugs which were very fowled just to get it home .

but still black smoke so i changed the fuel injectors still hard to start so to make a long story short .

I have replaced : the spark plugs, the wires distributor, rotor, the ignition coil,EGR solenoid ,and fuel injectors and it still won't start .

So I'm thinking it maybe it's the Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator because i get a stream of gas not a mist like it should be .

I'd like to know if I'm right .

AS OF 3/3/09

well i blew out the return line for fuel and it started rough but it was running .

Now it won't start at all .
i get it to turn over but it just won't start i have checked everything i can think of .

I checked or replaced the list below.

(REPLACED) spark plugs, the wires distributor, rotor, the ignition coil,EGR solenoid ,and fuel injectors .
(CHECKED)all the connections ,Battery, starter, fuel pressure, blew out the fuel line

Please help

thank you for your time

I just had a thought. It may be the ECM holding the injector open to long, or not fully releasing it. Do you have access to a scan tool that would let you monitor the injector data? Or if you want to chance it, you should be able to pick one up at a junkyard for $30-$50, or around $100 for a new one. I once saw an ECM do this, it would only start the car with the pedal down, like when flooded. Have you tried to start it with the gas pedal floored? When the pedal is about 80% down, the car should enter "clear flood" mode.

Well that seems to be the only way i get any reaction form the van when i hold the pedal to the floor.

Ok I'll see if i can get the tool on loan
