I bought this tow hook insert for my truck without realizing that when it's turned right side up it gets in the way of my swing arm and my gas can, so it's not real useful for me. If anyone with the factory type tow bar or a KMA without the tire arm is looking for a rear tow point, I'll sell this one for $25, OBO + shipping. It's a nice hook, but I need the D-Ring type for my bumper. It was used once this weekend by Schludwiller and it worked great! Um, yeah, you only get the tow hook in the picture for $25! :D

Only took you 10 minutes to sell it :). Just waiting on your email now.

Just a thought Chuck. You say when it's right side up it hits your tire carrier. Well does it hit when pointing down. The tow strap clamps are designed to hold the strap in the other direction. Anyone who mounts that hook to their frame would say you have it upside down.

Well, I think it depends on how your truck is sitting in relationship to the truck being towed. I would use it which ever way seems best under the circumstances to keep the strap from coming out. When you pulled Brian we put it on with the hook pointing up because the force was pulling down on your bumper. I think this is the way it would normally be used on the back.

The other thing is that I wanted to leave it on when on the trail and having it turned down means it might drag on some trails. Not many, but some.

I don't know, maybe I'm just thinking too much again! No matter, it's sold and I can get one that allows me to open my swing away no matter which way I put it in.

My suggestion would be to find a drill press and redrill the slide in section so that it could be used in any direction. That way, it could be used with the hook faceing up, down, left, or right.
