97 Regal, with 175kms

Whats up everyone

I just got replaced:
-Upper and lower intake manifold gaskets
-Front and back rocker cover gaskets

It was leaking coolant and mixing into the engine slowly....Engine was using Mobil 1 synthetic oil for the last 4 years. The mechanic put back in regular oil.

Is it ok to switch back from synthetic oil to regular oil?

Why did the mechanic switch back to dino oil?

Since you had the valve covers gaskets done I see no problems with it. But first what condition is your oil pan gasket in? Any other external leaking?

Thanks for the reply,

The mechanic said he had no synthetic oil in his shop at the time....I had the car dropped during the week there....Dino oil lol thats a funny name....But on the other hand I hear that because synthetic oil is so thin it can seep through the gaskets and leak all over again.

That is good advice on the oil pan....No leaks

Before I was told by another mechanic that the oil pressure switch could be another source of the oil leak/sweat..Do you know where this switch is? Also do you have a picture too?

No pic on the oil pressure/warning switch but it is located right above the oil filter and adapter assembly. Just turn the steering to the far right, look in towards engine and you will see it and the wiring harness/connector.
