94 olds 88 please help

hi there everyone i am new to this i recently was gave a 94 olds 88 royal it was starting and running at a high idle but once i started to drive it it would calm down some then after a bit it would start cutting out and now it will not start i was told to check the iac valve but i cant find it or a diagram for it any suggestions would be nice i cant afford to put alot of money in it thank you...:confused:

If it won't start check for spark and fuel pressure for basic diagnostics.

hi there and thanks i have check and replaced spark plugs and wire mass air sensor battery but it is still going dead and now i need to figure out where the iac valve is so i can check it... candy

The iac will not prevent the car from starting, if it will not even kick or sputter do what I said.

Welcome to AF, someone has to check for a drain in the electrical system when the car is off, also check alt output under load, these are basic diagnostics. Btw in the future start a new thread, this is unrelated to the op.

You need to post your own separate thread instead of asking questions on this persons. My alternator don't be holdin' no charge either. I don't know anybody's that does. Your battery holds the charge. If they are both brand new I would check some fusible links to make sure you don't have any blown. I'm gonna look in my book and see if I can tell you exactly where it is located.

hey its pieface agin im still havin the same problems.i cant figure out why my alternator isnt keepin the battery charged.by the way i had a transmission put in also.the car was fine before i had that done.and now its like a total head ache it keeps dying out on me. can you please give me some advice. thankyou
