Would be helpful to know more about the vehicle and your ownership history.

I am not a mechanic and only have very limited experience with these kinds of things but the following may help.

Your ABS is the Bendix 10, a famously undesirable system. The Haynes manual has practically nothing on it. The Chilton manual quite a bit. Suggest you read up on the system if you haven't already. Simple things like checking fluid level require depressurizing the system via pumping the brakes 40 times before removing the cap.

Equivalent of the Chilton manual is available free online via the link on the sticky or via Autozone.

If just the ABS light comes on, you lose ABS but still have power assist. If both lights come on, you lose both and not safe to drive.

On my vehicle, the pump motor that pressurizes the system comes on once every three times I touch the brakes, for about 4-5 seconds each time.

If the pump motor runs a long time it will burn out, at least that is the warning given in the manual. So, if you have the car running and the pump just keeps going and going, it is better to shut off and restart rather than risk ruining the pump motor.

OEM parts are absurdly expensive. Reman parts are expensive but not absurd, though perhaps still more expensive than is worthwhile for the van.

Aside from the Chilton manual or what you may get via FSM, Bendix manual or Alldata or Mitchell, this article is good

Good luck.
