I've been experiencing some rough idling when I get up to speed. You can't feel it til you get up to speed then it smooths out. Well I figured that it was my spark plugs so I checked them and they didn't look too bad however when I put them back in and started my car, it's idling rough when I crank it and it wasn't doing that. What could be causing that?

I forgot to mention that I'm pretty sure I contributed to this problem. I really don't drive this car unless I have to. For the past 6 months I've had a weak battery. When I let it sit for long periods of time, I have to jump it off. Well since my truck is in the shop, I've been having to drive but I've been jumping it off with a spare battery everytime I want to start it because the other battery isn't holding any charge to start the engine. The service engine light is flashing on and off. I know ususlly when that comes on sometime its on constantly but mine is flashing constantly. I don't have a code scanner but my owners manual says it means misfiring. Could that mean I need new spark plugs or something?

Since you noted that it got worse after a plug inspection and thus having the wires manipulated, in your place I'd look to the condition/age of the plugs and wires. You might wish to mist the wires is the dark with a spray bottle filled with water. Look for arcing as an indication of a problem with the wires.

Changed the plugs and wires and it's running like a charm along with a good oil change as well. Thanks again DF.
