 Can you use a 12 volt deep cycle battery in a car or truck?

I would say yes, but someone else may step in and refute that.

You can but.
It does not work out real good for the battery.
The high amp charging of car alternators is hard on deep cycle batterys.
Deep cycle battery charging should be done with a deep cycle alternator/generator setup or a deep cycle battery charger.

Optima makes a deep cycle/starting battery that is designed to be used in cars/trucks... I would assume that it can take the higher amp charge :dunno: If my old '02 Duralast ever starts to weaken, I'm getting an Optima for my truck.
