VW giglemorris 02-10-2009, 11:23 PM I know right? rare for me to get a VW job :) anyway landed a gig doin some drawings for a vw dealership in Florida. Cartoons of the salesfpeople in cartoon cars. http://www.dhphut.com/images/gvw_1.jpg http://www.dhphut.com/images/gvw_2.jpg http://www.dhphut.com/images/gvw_3.jpg I got 4 on deck different salesfolk, different cars the owner of the dealership is very "forward" thinking and has given me some play room. It's a very refreshing job for me. I would like to get more time to try to learn to draw some rods and stuff in the future but I am pleased that this opportunity found me. I owe a fellow DHP member http://www.dhpvw.com/blog a debt of gratitude as he posted some of my art in a forum I rarely visit and the owner of the dealership saw the art and called me. I pooped my pants...I was happy about that too. :) -Lemorris Blip 02-11-2009, 09:18 AM Congrats on the Buggy job. Got to say for me, the caricature in the smooth pencil has a bit more sparkle than the digi one. Cool design overall. It seems like the CAR-toon and caricature drawings are on an up-swing. I've been getting more requests for those recently, but suck at caricature art, so turn down most. I'll be following this one very close. lemorris 02-11-2009, 09:46 AM It's still all pencil at this point. I am hand inking the caricatures (I prefer cartoons) of the people at a large size. I'll scan them and drop then in after I do the line work on the cars. The hand inking will have a little more character. Wait that's not entirely true...if I do the linework in photoshop and use dynamic brush settings I can pull off a somewhat convincing look. I'm going to have my wife and daughter help me in the rendering. I'll share what I learn. -Lemorris warrenkeefe 02-11-2009, 12:03 PM Awesome! Congrats on the commission Lemorris, I'm sure they'll be more than impressed with the outcome. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
