I have about 122k miles on the vehicle. On a trip yesterday and engine quit 75 miles from home. After several tries still no start. After an hour and some desperation tried it again and it started. Drove about 15 miles toward home and it died again.. During the 15 miles engine light came several times. After it died could not start. Since I was one the highway I had no choice but to have it towed home.$$$$
At home I tested for spark at coil and plug and bot had spark. Prior I did pull the distributor cap and rotor was rusted. Replaced it and tried again but no success. Spark at coil and plug but it just cranks but no start. My second guess is fuel? then injectors. What do I test next.

Turn the ignition to ON. You should be able to hear the fuel pump runnning. If not check fuses and connections.

You can use a can of starting fluid and spray into the intake. If it starts it is a fuel problem. Don't spray into the air flow meter.

Check fuel pressure. Even if you can hear the pump run, it may not be pushing enough fuel pressure to open the injectors. If you dont have a gauge, they are cheap at local parts stores, doesnt have to be a fancy one. There will be a schraeder valve on the fuel rail.
