Fuel for Patrol Car

What gas fuel do you put on 04' Ford Crown Vic P71 patrol car? Premium or regular?

I do believe the engine is rated for '87 octane. Check your car's information manual to be sure. I do know the '99 and '00 models use 87 octane.

They are rated for 87 octane, but if you want a little better performance, go with the higher octane. If it has been run with higher octane, the PCM has adjusted itself to that fuel and it may run a little funny on 87 until it gets used to the new fuel. You can reset the PCM and let it relearn to the 87 octane and should have no problems.
