Torque converter ?

I just got my transmission from the shop. Was having problems with 3/4 clutches.

Ready to install the transmission back in the van and noticed the Torque converter went in a little to far . I don't ever remember any Torque converter going in this far I am usually is left with 1/4" from the backing plate on transmission. Its going in far enough to actually hit the bolts. I know once I install and bolt up to the flywheel its going to pull it out some . Not sure if this was normally like this. Once I removed the transmission without looking at the Torque converter I just sent it to the transmission guy.

Basically Is this ok ? Should i go ahead with putting the Transmission back in the van or should I call the guy and ask him whats going on ?

Van: G15 Express
Motor: 5.7
Transmission: 4L60E

Thanks for any help .

Welcome to AF.
I would call your transmission person about it for sure.
Some GM are lose on end play.
The end play depends on how deep the pump gear notices are cut in the converter.
And if the pump gear notches are good.
I would pull converter and look in there at pump gear notches and make sure they are not broke off.
Are you using the old converter?
I always like to go a good quality rebuilt converter on a rebuild.

Looking at the pump gear notches no problem there

That would be best.
As long as the converter snut is not pulling to far away from pump gear notches it would be ok.
But that much end play is not good.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck
