98 Camry interior door trim

The region of door handle trim on both front doors is bulging. I'm talking about the rubber/plastic area that's immediately adjacent to the power window controls. I can see 'under' the window control. It's been this way since I bought the car a year ago. Is something broken or has the form of the interior piece just lost it's shape due to age?

Can anything be done about it? I'm afraid rain might get in there when I open/close the door during down-pours.

Thanks,

I had this problem on my 98 Camry. You can take the window and door control panel out. Then get some 2 part epoxy and a couple of small c-clamps and epoxy it back together and then clamp it tight for about 12 hours. Use a straight piece of just about anything solid on the outside vinyl portion ofthe armrest, so the c-clamps won't dig into the vinyl. It will become obvious what to epoxy once you remove the control panel.

Thanks Mike, does that control panel just pop out/in or what?

That's one thing I don't remember. I would refer you to the generation 4 factory service manual stickied at the top of this forum. Download it and look at the body section for that information.
