Hi,
I'm new to posting here. Been reading for a while. I really appreciate all the help that you guys give. It's great to be able to find answers and that everyone is so nice!!

Now I have a question. It may be posted somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

I have just purchased a 1997 Firebird. My kids are about grown so it's time for Mom to have a toy!!! The person I purchased it from hit a deer so I need to replace the front bumper cover and RH fender. I was wondering what is involved in switching the 97 to a 98? I know they are different but I would like to know what all I will have to do to switch them out? I found a 98 front bumper cover I can pick up really cheap so would it be worth it to switch it all out??

Thanks in advance for the help. I'm sure I will have other questions in the future.

i think, i'm not sure, but I think you'd need to change, the bumper, the hood, and both fenders, and maybe even the headlamps as well.

not worth it in my opinion unless you can get a complete donor car that is either wrecked in the back or has a blown motor.

I'm not certain, but pretty sure there were quite a few body line changes from the nose to the doors, basically the whole front clip between the 2 years, 97 was the last of the angular type and 98 started rounding out a bit. To say anything of what Geno mentioned, the hood etc.

Thanks for the replies. I kinda figured that would be the answer but I just wanted to double check. I will be sticking with the 97 front end. I found a nose cone and fender for $200 so I will get it this weekend.

Thanks again.
