I got a 87 4x4 Toyota pickup that will shake very bad during normal braking. I've adjusting my driving to work around it. I had the front rotors turned, didn't help. Put new rotors and brake pads on the front and new brake shoes on the rear, didn't help. I tried to check the ball joints for excessive wear. I didn't see or feel any movemeent during this check. Not sure what to check next. Any help what be appreciated. Thanks.

Try the tie rod ends for play and for tires out of balance. Raise the wheels off the ground to check the ball joints. Finally, make sure the rear brakes are adjusted to properly carry some of the braking load. Letting only the fronts do all the work causes them to heat up excessively and cause warpage. Good luck!

Check/re-check things that wear in the front end; bushings (control arm, sway bar, etc), idler arm, pitman arm, ball joints, TREs, wheel bearings.
