Heater Control Valve location

My 2000 Intrigue (3.5 engine) was having the cold weather overheating
problem, I was hoping to bear with it until warmer weather comes back
to replace the thermostat but on Monday not only was it overheating
but a new problem arose, no heat from the climate control inside.
Yesterday I installed the enhanced flow thermostat, refilled coolant and
purged air from the system, temp gauge now at ½ mark but still no heat
to the cabin. There is no coolant flow through the heater hoses (I can
squeeze them together without any resistance), could someone tell me
where the heater control valve is and what I should check before I get
hypothermia during the morning commute?

There's no heater coolant control valve on the 3.5. Water comes out of the water cross over on the back drivers side of the engine, into the heater core. Out of the core across the top of the engine into the thermostat housing.

You may have air in the system. Bleeder screw on the radiator passenger side top of the side tank. Black nut.

Or you an actual ice blockage. It could be possible with the cold temperatures in the last week.
