1990 toyota 4gfe questionsgottadog 01-13-2009, 02:10 PM i'm pulling the head off of my friends car because he over heated the thing. i dont have a book. he is super cheap. so thats why i'm here. i want to know what the timing marks for the cams are suppose to look like, also what is the torque of the headbolts and cam bearings. thanks. i guess this engine was used in a lot of cars and geo cars as well. thank you all. jdmccright 01-13-2009, 10:17 PM Looks to be a dimple in between two timing gear teeth to mark the TDC for both camshafts. Here's a link to a repair guide for the timing belt removal: http://www.autozone.com/addVehicleId,1026001/initialAction,repairGuide/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528006f043 There should be links as well for removing and inspecting the heads and deck. Good luck...your friend owes you and us! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
