Please don't overlook my post.1990 2.5Lcaravansportedge 01-11-2009, 04:03 PM Hi all ! I'm new here. I already posted this a few hours ago and i can't find it anywhere!!! I have a 1990 2.5L caravan that stalled on the highway. It did'nt died slowly,it just cutted off!As the ignition was on,i had the oil light on but the check engine light was off.Towed the van in.What i think is the asd relay was clicking on/off very fast. The injector was filling the throttle body with gas all the way up! I installed another relay(not a mopar, but an auto. relay i had).Depending on the sequence that i have the ignition on/off and the relay disconnected/reconnected, the injector will sometimes fill the body with gas.The ground on that relay base is funny.I actually have almost battery voltage but not enough amps to power a small bulb light. The ignition coil is the same.Funny ground. The fire is very weak.So ,i replaced the computer once because there was no warning lamp available and could not retreive any codes.Same problem with the new computer,no codes but the check engine light is on now.Replaced the coil and the hall effect module at the base of the distributor.Same problem.Too much gas at times and fire very weak. Please ,someone help me! Please!:banghead: '97ventureowner 01-11-2009, 04:14 PM Hi all ! I'm new here. I already posted this a few hours ago and i can't find it anywhere!!! That's because you didn't post it in this forum. Here is the link to your original thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=936898 It's in the Dodge Caravan forum. Epistemology 01-17-2009, 11:20 AM This isn't the solution for which you are looking, but here's what I am going to be doing with my 2.5L 1988 Voyager. Remove the fuel injection, emissions equipment, etc. Install a carb that is either after market or a carburetor and complimentary components from an older 2.5L Chrysler vehicle (there were some carb caravans and some dealers were swapping EFI out for carbs because the first EFI systems were sometimes problematic). You might also take your voltage tester and test other things. See if the ECU is getting proper power. Good luck! sportedge 01-27-2009, 07:46 PM Thank you for your help. Most of the outputs of the computer are grounds. Turned out i had 1 bad output. It was the one that controlled the coil and the injector... I installed a time delay relay that comes on for 6 sec. as soon as it recieve power(in this case, the signal to the starter). After 3or4 seconds, the coil and the injector are powered (grounded !)by a regular relay through the pressure sw. i installed. Works good. I nedded that setup to make sure that the engine has to run for the injector to inject. If you have a car accident , the engine will likely stall, but the ignition will stay on. That's why i need the relays. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
