Hi

This is my bigest challenge i let you see.
I started this project arround 4 years ago,and its still not finished.
I decide to finish it this year. Its still a lot of work to do,hope to manage it.

For all to know, all pictures are made beside the work so you can see more an how i did in my way.

Parts i use are:

Pit stand from Le Mans Miniatures.
2 Scale Productions 550 Maranello Curbside kits.

The whole thing is around 60% scratch build. But more to this later.

First i let you see some of my over 200 reference pictures.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3365613334326164.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3139313366303537.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3331383064303463.jpg

The idea to build this i get when i painted the body and did some mistakes.
I had to clean the body and start to think what i do next.

I want to build a complete engined car with chassis and everything and it should display at the moment when the mechanics take apart and clean it before the main race start saturday afternoon.
That was the problem, cause there i no kit exist with engine and chassis.
So i have to build scratch.....:naughty:

So i started to collect reference pictures from chassis engine, pit, and ...and..and..

The engine i took from the Revell 612 Scaglietti, but i have to change a lot,but lets see that later.

First i start to cut the body in peaces.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6432626562396139.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3830313731393733.jpg

After cut the body in parts,i medelling the inside of the doors.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3761323963386135.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6637373934353136.jpg

Next was to create the inside of the open rear.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3230316664666531.jpg

At this pic you see how i started,at the end it will look complete diffrent as you can see later.I just have this one pic of that work.

Now i paint the bodys with italian bright red.First i primer gray, then it came white and at the end i use the bright red.

As you can see the bodys are already with decals and i used Scale Motorsport Carbon decals for diffusor and at the sides. All body parts are clear coated.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3961393134616238.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3665316161386361.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3437326261626264.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3037356536666261.jpg

Now the cuted body.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3339616563643562.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6466383932376430.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6230363662313433.jpg

Next was to build the chassis and it was really a challenge to me.
I have a lot of pictures but how should i start.
First i had to measure the body that i know how big it must be at the end.
And i just started.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3932616265653264.jpg

That was the beginning of my challenge.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3166323738383639.jpg

Here with the Rollcage.

For next i let the pictures talk, cause my englisch is not that perfect that i can explain everything.Hope you all forgive me...

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3236663164303938.jpg

Realise the front.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3635316432616662.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6664393463363563.jpg

Sometimes i fit the body to see if anything fits to the scale and sometimes also the measure again.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3362623634656562.jpg

Go on by the front.

Next was to create the cockpit.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6462666462393262.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6532343637386465.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6137663965643130.jpg

Now the rear.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3234343634393063.jpg

And now it looks already as a chassis...:iceslolan

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3632623331663139.jpg

As you can see on the pic i started to clean the whole chassis with spatula.
Later it will be cleaned with sandpaper.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6139656138346436.jpg

Again fit the body for you to see how it looks...

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6465393562343462.jpg

Next i pre primered the chassis and start with detailling.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6665613036333861.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3539393231643530.jpg

Next i primer all again, paint with Alclad gloss lack and at the paint with alclad Duralaluminium.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3335356164323138.jpg

As you can see i added additional parts to the car lifts.
The mechanics use them as security inside the pit and also to move the car higher to work better under the car.( You can see them at the reference pics at the beginning of the tread,i have mark them.)

Now fit the body again.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3561356634386438.jpg

Next was to create the engine.

As i told i used the engine from the Revell Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3564633539656435.jpg

I started to build an change what was to change.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3863373463663333.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3161633863366366.jpg

Between building the engine i made the brakes.
For them i took the Le Mans Miniature Brakes and change them a little bit.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3230303962343535.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6237613335356236.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3836353238303164.jpg

Now again to the engine.

As you can see the engine looks completely diffrent.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3432383236656165.jpg

For the Airintakes i used Model Factory Hiro parts.
And the gage is made from PE parts trash.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3965376434653739.jpg

now the finished engine.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3437303261313332.jpg

With the coloring of the exhausts i am not that happy and i will change it again.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3236623563643431.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3534633536396634.jpg

@Hanspeter

No not yet, i have made many modells between this. One day when i am in the mood i will finish this one. A lot of work to do because allmost everything is scratch build work.
