Hi Ladies and gentlemen,

In the last couple of weeks for no apparent reason my wipers have started stopping in the upright position -right in the line of vision-. I first noticed it when I used the windshield washer. After messing with it for a few times- possibly after letting it run on regular speed for 20 seconds or so it seemed to stop in the down position. Today after clearing rain from the windshield it did the same thing. Once again, after messing with it and letting it run for a few seconds it stopped in the down position. It seems to occur when using the intermitant feature. I also noticed that it has only started when it has gotten on the cool (temperature) side. It is a 2000 3.5L intrigue with approximatley 130,000 miles. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be. How about fixing it, any ideas?

Thanks
TimD.

what happens when you turn your wipers off?--->are your blades up or down (parked)?

Hi Gentlemen,

Thank you for getting back to me with the information. I have printed out the thread. Normally when I turn off the wipers, they park in the normal down park position. But like I stated, just recently (maybe a couple of times)they have sporadically started parking in the upright field of vision position. I noticed today with the snow, and using the intermittant feature they parked normally when I shut them off. On a couple of occasions, I would go to shut them off and they would move and come to a park/stop in the upright position as opposed to the down position. I think I am going to watch it and see what happens when it warms up.

Thank you for the feedback, let me know if you have any other ideas.

mine did this last winter...lasted a few days. I was about to pull it into the garage to fix them by doing the suggested fix with the park tab (being bent or not making contact...something like that) but they just started working normally again that day...its been about a year now? Maybe just pull you car into a heated garage for a while see if that helps..
