1995 Buick Le Sabre, sloppy gas pedal

my 1995 Buick Le Sabre Customs gas pedal has alot of play,it sits at about half way down, accelerates normally but I was wondering how I would be able to spring it back to where it is supposed to be?

You may have a worn out accelerator cable or there is binding. You can try lubing it with silicone spray lube or lithium lube where it goes into the firewall at the gas pedal. The spring loaded part of the accelerator is located at the throttle body butterfly plate so check that spring for proper installation or condition.
