I have a 93 S-10 Blazer and once it gets to about 25-30 mph it will lose all its guts and the motor will rev very high. If you get on the gas big time after it loses it guts it will eventually catch again around 40 mph. Also the motor has a tendancy to get very hot because of the transmission ?slipping?. Anyone know how to remedy this situation? Thanks

Welcome to AF
First thing is the transmission slipping out of gear or just slipping or engine not running right.
Engine has to be running right foir transmission to run right.

How is the fluid and fluid level and transmission filter?
Has it ever been serviced?

What is the mileage on it?

Any check engine or transmission lights?

Has it been put on a transmission/engine capable scanner and checked out and if any codes post back code no.

It has proper fluid level. I have not checked the filter. Will do that tomorrow morning. It has 144000 miles on it. The motor runs like a top. It seems to be the trans. Once in a while I will get a service engine soon light if I leave it idling for an extended period of time.
Thanks for the Help

Also I don't know about the servicing part on it. I'm sure it could use a fluid change. It had kinda low trans fluid before this happened but I wouldn't think it was low enough to start this.

How low was low?
Got any leaks?

Let us know if the transmission pan has any metal or clutches in the bottom of it or in filter.

Also get it on a good transmission scanner and read out data and slippage information and check for codes.
Post back code no.
