Ok the warning light came on 2 weeks ago. But when driving the vehicle and braking in straight line or turning the light will go off. So Im guessing this would have to be a issue withe front end and not the back end. I pulled off both wheels and cleaned the sensor on both and this didnt seem to make any difference. I did check for any cuts or obvious wear on the leads but nothing at all. So what would be the next step? I do have a co worker who has a scanner but would this tell me what tire it would be? or just let me know I have problem. Not sure how else to check the system to correct this. I have the weekends off and got the time but during the week I got no other way to work 27 miles one way. Other than that its been a good vehicle. one alternator, 2 water pumps, 1 fuel regulator in the past 15yrs. Thanks

If I remember correctly, '92 had several options for ABS. There should be a label on the ABS module bolted to the master cylinder telling what system you have. A scan tool must be ABS capable to read the codes. Codes can also be retrieved by jumpering the "H" pin to ground in the ALDL connector under the dash, and reading the flashes on the ABS light.

ok will see if I can get the scanner in a day or 2 and get back with you on my findings. Oh the blazer had sat for about 3yrs while I was in Iraq. Got back a few months ago and its been doing ok till the anti lock warning light.

Ok turns out my co-worker the scanner he has is his dads and right now thier not on good terms. Any way I did the paper clip and got the engine light to flash and there were no codes at all. I just would get a code 12 over and over.
I checked all the wiring for obvious wear or nicks and just couldnt find a thing.

Driving the vehicl once I start moving say about 50 or yards the anti lock light will come on. Now If use the brakes the light will stay right up to the last oh 20 to 30 feet and go out and stay out till I start rolling again (this is a straight line stop) Now if I brake and turn to the left the the light will go out right away. And the same for if im making a right turn but seems to stay off a few seconds longer.

I bought this blazer back in 94 and after 5 days I had it I was in a wreck, the brakes had failed and the car I hit as fate would have it was the daughter of the sales man who SOLD me the blazer. That night it happend it was wet and I checked the brakes several times after the accident and sure enough they would start to brake then the pedal would just go to the floor. So anyway everything was fix and insurance paid everyone. Well it was about 2yrs latter I learned of the recall that was issused on this system but I didnt file a suite when it happend so oh well.

So right now im thinking that the ABS is working correctly and that one of the front sensors on either the left or right wheel is shorted or amiss. And that once I start braking I guess the downward movement or something is then causeing the completion of the signal being sent and there for the Anti lock light is going out? I think that would be the logical answer then again I could be way off. I flipped a coin at O'Riellys and ordered the passenger side wheel sensor and going to take the old one out and put this one in this weekend. I figured it was a 50/50 shot of getting it right and if I got it wrong and have to replace the drivers side one its still less than $100.00 Thats if it corrects the problem. I dont think that Anti lock warning light is going to pass my vehicle inspection.

I checked on the master cylinder for some sort of idea what system I have and only thing is a little sticker that has SR on it. The ABS unit next to it is a Kelsey Hayes but no other markings or numbers on to what system it is.
Thanks for any imput or thoughts posted would be apprciated. Geo
