Year ago we had a tractor that we did not use for some time and the engine froze on it, we add mmo to it thru the spark plug holes several times and let sit eventually loosing the piston's so we could turn engine over and then we tore apart and overhauled.

It helps loosen them. It doesnt always work but definetly worth the try :)

it doesnt loosen rings. it loosens carbon build up. does that mean it will loosen the rings up, possibly. if the car is burning oil, then it might help reduce it. overall, if it is burning oil, it isnt going to stop without a rebuild.
be thankful if your car isnt burning 2 quarts every 150 miles. mine does and there is no quick fix or any help. thats why i am building another motor right now.
