here's the rough roughs, both will be redrawn a couple times, so don't laugh too much.

I like your "rough" sketches. Did you ever finish some with pencils or always with digital media?

Looks like the makings of a great layout design with the old and new.

Sometimes I finish a piece with traditional mediums (pen, pen, sidewalk chalk etc.) but by and large I'm being hired to do shirt designs and stuff like that and in that arena I am largely digital.

I am trying to blur the line visually at least. You'll see all my pieces start with some rough pencil work. I'll redraw the subject a few times to lock it down then I redraw it digitally. It helps keep some of the hand feel in my pieces...I think anyway...who knows.

Yeah Blip old and new on a shirt for a glass company. We'll see how "good" it is :). I always worry at this stage.

Thanks for lookin.

very nice "rough" work. I hope one day my finished work looks that good!... ;)...

"Roughs" is the term I use for that stage as it's not near the completed stuff. I think maybe "base drawings" might be a more accurate description as the drawings are not "rough". I'll put up the next level on each and then maybe it'll be a little clearer. The next level is much cleaner and is the level I scan in to and use as a template for my Illustrator work.

I have a tutorial on my site if you want some insight.

Takes a while to load...sorry

I would usually do one more but I'm going to just plow forward from here on this one. I see anumber of issues but I'll get them locked down in Illustrator.

Here's the second generation on the 2010

It has a number of issues too but I'll address them in Illy.

Should come out ok.

Whoohoo!

What colours are we lookin'at for these??
(You kinda surprised me with a white bug on the last one haha--kept waiting for colour...)

lemorris

These will both be Orange and White on a navy shirt. haven't decided if one will be orange with white stripes and the other white with orange or perhaps both orange with white

very limited colors on this one (5) so I have to be careful.

Pace Car colors should look great on both.

Luv the viewing angles with the rear view of the old as it fades away, and the front of the new as it jumps into view.

thanks guys

it's just making a coloring book with thinner lines. The concept is the same.

Just takes some practice. Anyone can do it.

Im sure any1 could produce some cool artwork using these tools. Not many people can do what u do. Seriously everytime u do a step by step like this, its just insane!

Just far-out amazing, and like GB posted, maybe anyone can fill in colors, but you
