An actual job!lemorris 01-03-2009, 10:35 PM :) here's the rough roughs, both will be redrawn a couple times, so don't laugh too much. http://www.dhphut.com/images/advan_2.jpg http://www.dhphut.com/images/advan_3.jpg GirlBear 01-04-2009, 01:53 AM hey, they look very cool as is. lemorris 01-04-2009, 02:01 AM Thanks GB eleanor91 01-04-2009, 05:35 AM I like your "rough" sketches. Did you ever finish some with pencils or always with digital media? Blip 01-04-2009, 08:06 AM Looks like the makings of a great layout design with the old and new. lemorris 01-04-2009, 10:58 AM Sometimes I finish a piece with traditional mediums (pen, pen, sidewalk chalk etc.) but by and large I'm being hired to do shirt designs and stuff like that and in that arena I am largely digital. I am trying to blur the line visually at least. You'll see all my pieces start with some rough pencil work. I'll redraw the subject a few times to lock it down then I redraw it digitally. It helps keep some of the hand feel in my pieces...I think anyway...who knows. Yeah Blip old and new on a shirt for a glass company. We'll see how "good" it is :). I always worry at this stage. Thanks for lookin. -Lemorris elcamino6t9 01-04-2009, 12:20 PM very nice "rough" work. I hope one day my finished work looks that good!... ;)... lemorris 01-04-2009, 01:09 PM "Roughs" is the term I use for that stage as it's not near the completed stuff. I think maybe "base drawings" might be a more accurate description as the drawings are not "rough". I'll put up the next level on each and then maybe it'll be a little clearer. The next level is much cleaner and is the level I scan in to and use as a template for my Illustrator work. I have a tutorial on my site if you want some insight. Takes a while to load...sorry http://www.dhphut.com/tutes/illytops/illytops.htm -Lemorris lemorris 01-04-2009, 03:02 PM I would usually do one more but I'm going to just plow forward from here on this one. I see anumber of issues but I'll get them locked down in Illustrator. http://www.dhphut.com/images/advan_4.jpg lemorris 01-04-2009, 04:41 PM Here's the second generation on the 2010 It has a number of issues too but I'll address them in Illy. Should come out ok. http://www.dhphut.com/images/advan_5.jpg lemorris 01-04-2009, 08:16 PM elcamino6t9 01-04-2009, 08:21 PM wow... you make me sick!... that is killer work... keep it coming... love to watch the process... thanks! lemorris 01-04-2009, 11:30 PM xpeed 01-05-2009, 03:02 PM Purely awesome! lemorris 01-06-2009, 11:02 PM thanks guys it'll be nice to have a non vw or 2 :) http://www.dhphut.com/images/advan_8.jpg http://www.dhphut.com/images/advan_9.jpg GirlBear 01-07-2009, 02:26 AM Now thats a great pic to see right as i go to bed. lol nice! rexsins-art 01-07-2009, 04:13 AM sensational linework and start ,my favorite american car ill be watching this closely :) Blip 01-07-2009, 12:47 PM The line art is a winner, could stand alone as a finished project. PDQ VW 01-07-2009, 01:02 PM Whoohoo! What colours are we lookin'at for these?? (You kinda surprised me with a white bug on the last one haha--kept waiting for colour...) lemorris 01-07-2009, 02:49 PM These will both be Orange and White on a navy shirt. haven't decided if one will be orange with white stripes and the other white with orange or perhaps both orange with white very limited colors on this one (5) so I have to be careful. -Lemorris lemorris 01-07-2009, 10:03 PM lemorris 01-07-2009, 11:54 PM Blip 01-08-2009, 08:59 AM Pace Car colors should look great on both.
