My code reader says I have a malfunction shift selenoid B. I am trying to find a picture of a shift selenoid B and where it is located. If it is in the valve body can I take the valve body down and replace it without other complications such as loosing a part out of the valve body. Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the Shift Selenoid B and where it is located?
Thank you.
Thank you.

I purchased a solenoid pack for my 1997 with an E40D transmission. At that time it was appx. $66.00 check at the Ford dealer parts or on line. I had to pull the pan unplug the unit it unplugs on the side of the transmission. You need a 1/4 inch drive and a set of torx bits. I think about six bolts to remove.
No gasket came with it. As I also cleaned the valve body I purchased a paper and rubber gasket kit. I wouldn't do this without a lift. Just buy a pan gasket and filter plus the solenoid kit. Its obvious when you drop the pan as its in a metal bracket frame. By the whole pack don't just replace one. You also need a socket set to pull the pan.
