96 SL1 tranny ?

So i have a 96 sl1 sohc auto 119k
Ok me and my mom havehad this car for a year now..love it great mpg. i have always noticed i want to say in second gear maybe 3rd it does like a shift but not a shift just drops about 500rpm sometimes it does soetimes it dont. dosent shift rough. also you can notice it downshifting when breaking idk if thats normal but i have never really noticed it in others autos. thanks for any imput Josh

ps i have not changed the ects yet but will do that today.

change the ECTS.

Change the tranny fluid and filter. Should be done every 20K

Downshifting is normal for the s-series trannys. Yes its a little different from other cars :)

you might be noticing the torque converter doing its job. its very hard to say if you have a problem or if its normal. who knows, transaxle might be slipping.
