I have a 99 F150 that I bought used 2 years ago, I recently got a remote entry key FOB for the truck. When I tried to go through the programming procedure, I realized that my truck must not have the remote entry module because the door locks do not lock when the key switch is cycled 8 times in 10 seconds.

I've read that, if my truck has the remote entry module, it will be located above the emergency brake pedal, I have looked and don't see one there although I have to admit, I'm not really sure what it looks like.

My question is, if I buy a factory remote entry module for my truck, will it simply plug into the existing wiring under the dashboard? Or, is it a little more involved since my truck did not have this module from the factory?

Any help / advice will be greatly appreciated.
