can you feel it in sterring wheel when you brake? if so your front rotors are probably warped. you could take them off and have them turned at a shop if there not to thin if they are i would call and get a price for new rotors.

Do you have 4 wheel disc brakes or front disc and rear drum? If you feel the vibratoin in the steering wheel then it is probably warped front rotors. You can turn them or replace them. If you feel it coming from the seat them it is probably coming from the rear brakes and you should have them replaced or surfaced. How many miles and what style of driving?

I have a 2006 Malibu Maxx 2LT and in October of '07, it was shaking for me when I would brake, though mostly at highway speeds would it be noticeable. He told me exactly how it was caused, and said that it isn't an uncommon occurrence (usually involves the rear discs), but all they had to do was turn the rotors and I was on my way. I haven't felt that sensation since, and it was also covered by the warranty. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents since I own a Malibu as well (though a newer one).
