Water in engine oil

I have a 1980 MGB and I noticed when I check the oil that the color of the oil was greenish. I believe this might be radiator fluid. Is there anyone who can give me some advice as to the probable cause, where to look to confirm, and how to fix the problem?

Thanks

Z

If it is indeed water in the engine oil,my experience has always been a blown head gasket which can be serious. If it is bad enough, the oil level may even be higher on the dipstick. It would be a good idea to drain the oil and look more closely. You can also check the compression on each cylinder.A loss of compression in 1 or 2 cyl. would be suspicious. There are other ways which I won' t get into.Any mechanic should be able to help you.A new head gasket is the only answer.Good luck.Ben
