Hello everyone, I have a 1995 Delta 88 and about 2 weeks ago my heat stopped working on a cold/frosty day. For the last 5 weeks before this i would hear a loud noice while the heat is on only for until it get all the way hot. But also when my heat stopped workin my rear defrost stopped working also, when i push the defrost light it dont come on and it dont defrost. When this happened I smelled a little burnt smell, dont know what it is. I changed my climate control and that wasnt the problem. Oh and I have manual control too. Please help me out with this problem, ITS VERY COLD OUTSIDE...:banghead:...oh and I am getting a little heat but its not blowing at all.

Welcome to AF, please reduce your font. Do you have full 12v to the blower motor when this occurs?

I would think so, If i didnt what would be going on? and how would I go by checking this?

Still have not answered the question, if the blower stops as you say? Then maybe the blower is bad or something in the control circuit, how do you start this diagnosis without knowing that.

Ok today I went out side and hooked up a Hot and Ground wire to my Blower, and the blower worked. Could it be a relay? If so which one because I dont have the cover that say the names of all of them. Thanks for your help.

Go to autozone.com repair guides, they have the info you need. Not sure of the exact location on that year.

That is not how to check a relay you must check the hot wire to the blower when the relay clicks closed, see if it has 12v coming out to the blower wire. if not the relay is not powered or is not being engaged by the control, I am telling you this because I do not know how you checked all " 5 pins"

On autozone.com and advanceautoparts.com they said that the heater relay is 5 pin, so I just purchased the 5 pin relays new. Its only 2 relays that are 5 pin on the car. So I changed them both and still nothing.

I'd like to help here, but unless you get a wiring diagram and back trace the circuits to the relay for the required ground and power sources as I recommended, I can't go any further. If you cannot do this yourself, to save money hot wire the blower with a seperate switch under the dash and bypass the normal circuity, make sure you fuse it though.

What should I fuse it with because i used 30a fuse and it blew twice?

The there is a short somewhere in the circuit or you have wired it wrong.
