I noticed a 2 foot rubber hose hanging down from the rear of my 2002 Sport Trac (about:blank#) . . . One end is attached to the top of the rear axle . . . approx (about:blank#). 14 inches from the right wheel . . . .

I'm interested in knowing where the other end should be attached . . . . and what the function of this hose is . . .

At the end of the hose . . . there is no odor or any evidence of liquid. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like what you found is the vent tube for the rear axle.

That is just a vent tube. Mine is just attached to a bracket and it sometimes falls down, just needs to be put back.
