2001 Malibu Steering Wheel locks up

I have a 2001 Malibu, and just last night, I turned on my car, and when backing up and turning the wheel to the right, I heard this clicking noise, and it was harder than normal to turn the wheel. So I go to my destination, and on the way back home, I am pulling up to my street, and have to make a right turn, and my wheel actually locked.

I could not turn at all. I stopped my car, and had to practically force it to the right. But it clicked the whole way. I then went into my parking lot, and when I went to turn right again, the wheel almost locked up. As I turned it, I could hear a loud clicking noise, and it felt that the wheel had lost power steering, but only to the right. The wheel turns fine to the left. What would cause something like this? Could it be that the steering lock when the car is off didn't fully disengage? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bad steering rack bearing, need new rack.
