Ok, since I've been here selfishly viewing your great builds, I decided to post my current WIP.

Model: Tamiya Clk-Gtr sportswear reissue (24201)
Mods:
Cf all over, mostly CM decals
Open bonnet
S27 Pe upgrade kit
Custom scratch built parts

My goal for this build: To practice more with decals and some basic scratch building skills. Will try to get this as precise as my skills will let me.

I've been working on this since the 5th of December and honestly don't have too much to show. I'll only post the main updates here as I don't want to bore the heck out of you all...
Fully documented WIP can be found here (http://cyberkidmodels.googlepages.com/clk-gtr) (Note, this is heavy on pics) I also document my screw ups lol.

So far the engine has around 70% done.

Body I'd say around 5%

Open to all forms of C/C regarding the model or the wip documented here.

Superb! That's the way I like it, add as many details as you're able to do + documenting a lot! :D
Great job so far and wish you good luck on CF and the suspension work.

Nice work on the engine so far, the headers looks great with the slight staining effect.

Nice! I see you're gonna kill yourself building this - here's hoping you nail something really amazing. It's looking like it so far.

LoL, I'm not sure if I'll kill myslef... but I'm starting to think that I may go nuts :lol2:
With all the CFing I've been doing.. I'm starting to see stripes where ever I go...
Finished the bottom side of the chassis...

This has only been lightly cleared to protect the decals, I'll be smoking the whole chassis as one piece to get the shading the same. The weave direction is purely guess-ti-mation... as the only time I've seen the CLK-GTR's under chassis is when it took flight...

Weave directions I used, from left to right |↘|↗|→)

I've yet been able to find any decent engine wiring pics.... if anyone can help me out on how the engine is wired, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi, Keep up the good work, these are lovely kits and I have completed both the "sportwear" and "original teile" kits. The only draw back is the decals! they do not like softner at all,be very careful,I used micro-set only and a hairdrier and lots of patience.See http://photobucket.com/alexp28.
Best wishes Alex:smile:

Thanks for the heads up on that one, right now I'm really frustrated on the cam covers...I keep on messing up the smoke..(for the 10th time I think :crying: )

Thanks everyone for the replies. Due to continuous cold fronts, its too cold for the paint to go down well and too cold for me to want to get out of bed for long periods of time :lol2:
I'll be updating here and on my site in about a week or so...not much completed... SLOWLY laying CF decals... :(

Very challenging proect you chose. Especially with all the CF you want to apply. I can only give you the advice to stay - take it step by step. If youŽre frustated doing CF, start on different parts of the build. The CF-work comes back and youŽll be more relaxed. Good luck with everything!

Cheers
