1996 suburban not startingdemetria 12-21-2008, 06:53 PM I was driving a few days ago and my "check gages" light came on. It went off soon afterwards. A couple hours later I was driving again and got stuck in the snow. After about ten minutes of trying to get out of the snow, the truck just went off on me. When the key turns on, the engine doesn't start. About two hours later, the truck would start up and then go right off. It did this a few times. Its not the battery (brand new one 2day). The connections to the battery are good and everything is clean and all the fuses are good. Any help? maxwedge 12-21-2008, 07:46 PM You need to have the basic checks done for spark and fuel delivery. demetria 12-21-2008, 09:12 PM I meant to add that while I was trying to start it yesterday evening, it did turn over for a quick sec, then automatically shut off. It did this a few timez then the battery was dead. maxwedge 12-22-2008, 03:54 PM Not sure what you mean it sounds like the starter only turns a few times or the battery quits, no way to tell from here. demetria 12-22-2008, 05:13 PM n\Not sure what you mean it sounds like the starter only turns a few times or the battery quits, no way to tell from here. Right before the truck cut off, my "check gages" light kept coming on. I just installed new battery and my oil and temp level shows low. no leaks anywhere. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
