My sister has a 2007 Versa. We just learned the other day that it will cost $106 + programming for another key. I think the key has a chip, is there anyway to disable this so we can use a standard key w/o a chip

..are there cheaper keys then the ones from the dealer. I thought it odd that the dealer did not have any blank keys...like people buy them else where.
do the keys have to be programmed..how much does that cost

You can try a local locksmith. Some have the keys and can program them. Good luck.
