I have noticed in the last week that my Denali with 100,000 miles on it seems to give me an intermittent issue when accelerating from zero mph to second gear. Especially when its cold, it will lunge a little when accelerating. Again this is only from a complete stop. Its almost like if you were to step on and off the gas ever so slightly to cause a lunging feeling. Also once, I accelerated and nothing happend, then it kicked in and began to move. The problem is not bad right now, I am more concerned with it being a warning sign and want to avoid a complete failure.

I have read on this forum something about a transmission solenoid that may go bad after this much use. I really need some guidance here because i don't want to take it to a transmission shop. I have a trusted mechanic and want to communicate to him correctly about what the potential problem would be.

Thanks!!!

How long since the last tranny service (i.e. drain fluid and replace filter)? Do not flush it! Your trusted mechanic should be able to do that for you. Also have him/her scan it for transmission codes.

Thanks -I'll do that. The last time I had the fluid changed was 90,000mi service which was 18 months ago 13,000 miles ago. I don't know what the recommended interval is for transmission service...
