Hello,
I have a 1992 S10 Blazer 4.3 "W" Auto Trans. Push Button 4WD
recently I loaned it to my younger brother, he put it in 4 wheel drive and it wont disengage. I have no idea what to do. The indicater lights are old and don't say Hi or Low anymore just a green light on the top and a Orange Light on the bottom. First both the lights were blinking. I disconected the batery for about 30 minutes then turned the key to on/off 5 times attemping to reset the computer and it went to just the green light. I then got the light to turn off but it is still in 4 Low. I don't have a manual and have never used 4wd since I bought it about a year ago. Any Idea of what to check out? Is there a way to manualy get it out of 4WD till I can get money to put it in the shop?
Thanks

Check fuse.
When trying to get it to shift out of 4W stop and back up and let it roll forward or put it in neutral.

If shift button lights come on for a bulb test key on.
You can junper pins J and A on your diagnostic connector and read codes on shift button light.
Post back any codes.

I'd like to first say thank you, I was parked on a hill with a slight upward incline so I backed out of the driveway reversed back in put it in nuetral then pressed the Hi switch and it shifted out of 4wd with no problem. I even was able to put it back in 4wd again and it came back to 2wd with ease. I guess being parked up a hill was the problem. Thanks:)

Im not sure which pins are what, like you said jump pins "A" and "J" I have a code reader but it only reads Engine and ABS trouble codes. I'd like to know for future problems that might occur

You are welcome and thanks for posting back how it went.
Glad all is well.
Here is a pin id link.

You will have to count over with ABC"s on top row right to left and bottom row left to right to find J pin.
Do not operate it in 4W on dry payment.
Driving on dry payment in 4W hard on it and will bind them up and make them hard to shift and sometimes wipe them out.
Also make sure your tires are a matched set.

Backing up and rolling forward and placing in neutral releases the pressure so they can shift.
There is another post or two on here that had the same problem.
Good luck
