NGK Copper only. No fancy plugs :)

I ended up going with OE Saturn plugs from the dealer. They were no more then aftermarket, and they were NGK's.

definatly need to go cheap on this one...

NGK or OEM ... the car is not equiped with a cam position sensor to adjust timing , so any changed with the seconday ignition (i.e. fancy plugs) are detrimental not benifical because it changes the resitance in the system

trust me

OEM

just because there is no cam sensor doesnt mean that it cant adjust ignition timing. the computer still adjusts ignition timing due to the sensor that controls that, the crank sensor. the cam sensor is mainly used for fuel injector timing.

if anyone says the car cant run on platinum plugs due to this "wasted spark" then they are idiots. basically every car out there now is wasted spark. it is more for emissions. it fires once during combustion, and once on exhaust to burn the excess fuel. if anyone wants to make a complaint, it can be on how platinums have higher resistance. on cold damp days, this can cause the stupid p0341 code, due to high resistance in ignition system (though it is not documented, it is something i had happen twice with platinums without any performance issues, but doesnt seem to be much of a known factor at all). dampness usually increases the problem. but platinums run fine in the engine.

the best plugs ive ever used in a saturn s-series have been ac delco rapidfire.

Timing is adjusted from ECTS, IAT, TPS, and other sensors not just the CPS.

Use platinums, but when the car doesnt start, remove them and put the OEM back in :)

Stick with the O.E. on any vehicle and there should never be an issue. Or If you want to look at it from my point of view go ahead and put in a fancy plug of your choice. Especially Bosch Platinum +4's. Then I get to charge you a $100 to tell you those brand new plugs you just installed are the cause of your problem!! :iceslolan

for what it's worth, I use OEM plugs now.
I had 2 of 4 Bosch platinums drop their insulators into the engine of a previous car. No more Bosch for me.

car not starting due to platinums? L O L, there are too many misconceptions with saturns causing lots of incorrect information.

now of course, if you run bosch plugs then there is a problem. i have yet to see bosch plugs run reliably in any car. well ive seen one bmw i put them in that worked fine. my uncle wanted them.

i have 20000 miles on my bosch 4s in my saturn and 50000 miles with bosch 4s in my dakota so i have never had a problem with them

NGK V-Power. Work great... make sure they're not G power...as those are platinums. They'll work, but they'll wear out in no time.
