hard start, randomly dies, blows smoke at start up

biggest problem i have is that my car will die on me at random times in the worst places. i found a bad wire going to the CPI. repaired wire and car still dies randomly. i removed the upper intake manifold to see if there was something i missed or messed up and found small pools of a oil/gas mix on the lower manifold. the passenger side of the lower manifold is fuel soaked (shiney) and the driver just suit. i do not see where a leak is but there has to be one. i assume the smoke and hard starting are from the leaking fuel in the manifold. Also when i first bought the vehicle i had problems and took it to the shop where they replaced my CPI (1 YR ago). after the shop i didnt have any issues for a few months then it started the random dieing. i guess my question is would a cpi go bad that quickly or do i have some sort of back pressure problem. If the trucks sits for a few days it starts right up no problem, but after its warm and sits for like an hour or so i have to floor the accelerator to get it to start and it will blow smoke like crazy for a few seconds but not at all while running. any advice would be helpful TYVM

Fuel leak on passenger side is the fuel pressure regulator leaking. It needs to be replaced and the engine oil and filter changed. Do not drive it until the leak is repaired or damage will be done to the bearings in the engine, very expensive to repair.
