Dont run right when cold

Hi, i have a 1995 GMC Jimmy that wont run right when it is cold. It only gives me problems if it has sat all night in the freezing cold. If it was a warmer night it will start right up and run fine.

Anyway, when i start it cold the check engine light comes on, it will miss and stall, and smell real gassy. Ill give it throttle slowly and it will run fine (engine light still on). Ill do this till it is worm, and still runs bad. Ill come back and turn her over in 30 to 45 mins and it will start right up and run fine.

Could this be the oxygen sensor, throttle positioning sensor, or a computer problem? Im thinking maybe to that it could even be plugs or wires becaus of the rich gas smell. I just dont understand why it will run fine after i worm it up, leave it alone for 30 to 45 mins and strat it up.

Remarks like that when people haven't had a chance to reply get's you a long way with advice.

You don't state which engine it is, last tune up, or if fuel pressure was checked and if you have read the codes since your lite comes on.
