I'm replacing the Front Hub/Wheel Bearing Assembly. What tool will I need to remove the three bolts holding the assembly? It looks like a Torx, but a T-50 is way too small and a T-55 too large. An 8mm hex is too small and a 9mm to large.

I tried a standard hex. 3/8 too small. 5/16 too large?

I'm stuck here. Is it a special tool?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Get something small and pointed. Clean out the hole and try your t55 again I'm pretty sure that's the right size.

It is.

I do appreciate the help here guys, and perhaps I'm going crazy but I really don't think it's a T-55. I've had metric and Standard hexes in that hole so I know it's clean. I've had the T-50 and 55 as well, the 55 is just way too big.

The insides of the torx bolts get jammed with dirt and grit. It may seem like the bit won't fit but what is really happening is the hardened dirt is not allowing the bit to fit into the bolt correctly.

I had the exact same problem you had and I thought I was going nuts. I then started to clean out the head of the torx bolt and eventually stuff started to flake out. I then put the bit in and it worked.
