Hey, I might have a big problem. I was just driving down the road and when I started to smell burning coolent smeel from the vents. I had the defroster on and the floor on fan speed 3. The windshield started to fog up too. I have to shut everything off and drive with the windows down just so I didnt puke from the smell. I drove for about 15 more miles and shut it off. It wasnt overheting the gauge was normal, and I looked under the hood and nothing was leaking on the ground or on the floor(heatercore). So I dont know. I drove it later and it did it for about 20 more miles and then it stoped?? It seems fine know??? I dont know what the problem is?? No engine codes.:banghead:

Classic symptom of a leaking heater core. Check the Blazer "How To" section for the replacement procedure.

Were would the coolent be leaking to if the core was leaking? I thought when it leaks the carpet is wet. Mines not. thanks

It's likely it isn't leaking enough to drip but it'll start soon.

It is a big job,the whole dash has to come out.To make it easier remomve the whole steering column so you do not break the 4 way flasher button and lock the steering column in park with it straight so you do not mess the clockspring up.Disconnect the battery also.
