WIP: Tamiya Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V WRC

Hi there, this is my first WIP I will be posting here, and it will be the third car kit that I have built now. The car is a 1/24 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V that Tommi Makinen drove in the 1998 Catalonian Rally. For the most part, the kit will be box stock, modifications being made where I see fit.

The interior is mostly together, minus the cage and dashboard, as is the chassis.

I ran into some problems on the body- there a quite a few holes Tamiya left me to drill, and I had already painted the body- I'll have to sand and respray after I finish drilling.

I'm painting the body using TS-49 (Bright Red) and TS-26 (Pure White) with a coat of primer underneath. Gonna put one coat of clearcoat on, decal, and then a final clearcoat. Lemme know what ya think.

A promising start. I always love to see rally cars.
Interior looks nice, as does the underside.

In the third picture it seems like you forgot to paint a part blue (well, part of a part, don't know the exact name, but it's in the upper right corner...)

Got all my holes drilled, and added thin wire around the rollcage padding to make it appear more realistic as if it is strapped down.

the one were its red, suspension part? AFAIK the real mitsu rally cars have different colored parts. one side is red, and one side is blue. so as to easily know what side goes where. :D

I think he mean the blue one above the red part. You can see that on one side he painted the part attached to the chassis in blue and on the other side is still white (unpainted).

It looks kinda funny, but that part is meant to be white.

Update:

Had a *slight* problem with the body...fingers slipped, and I dropped it on the tile floor, the fender, bumper and sideskirts all fell off, and there is a decent sized paint chip on the front fender. Otherwise it looks OK. I will have to strip, sand and repaint.
