What I am trying to do is remove my 305 / 4L60E from my 1998 1/2 Ton long bed and transplant a 350 / 4L80E from a 1998 3/4 Ton long bed.

I have the wiring harness from the firewall forward with the computer and all accessories the engine came fully dressed with the 4L80E attached.

I have the cross member and drive line.

I want to rebuild the engine and tranny with the upgrade parts before I install them.

then maby a 305 Go Kart hmmmmm

I deleted the post because I thought you were looking for a 4L60E kit and the link I posted is a very good rebuilt kit for the 4L60E. I don't know much about the 4L80E and what parts are normally replaced during a rebuild. For example, the sun shell is a known weak point on the 4L60E and is normally upgraded during a rebuild.

Since the 4L80E can handle more torque, a rebuild might just include the normal stuff (gaskets, o-rings, seals, friction materials, etc).

Thank you for the link. I will eventually rebuild the 60e I got this whole setup out of a 3/4 ton for 700.00 so I figured I could make something work :screwy:

I think you want to find a "Master Rebuild Kit" for the 4L80E and maybe look at the Transgo 4L80E-HD2 reprogramming kit. I have the 4L60E-HD2 kit installed in a muscle car and really enjoy the crisp shifts. I went mild but the kit improves on weaknesses of the tranny.

The link for 4L60E kit, already has the Transgo kit. You could also call Dana (www.700r4l60e.com) and see if he can put together a kit for the 4L80E.
